., a subsidiary of Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, announced that its financial services team continues to develop solutions for its resellers through its efforts of a more consultative and proactive approach to assisting customers in their solution selling. Recently Westcon Group North America, Inc. has increased the credit line of over 700 of its reseller partners which cumulatively represents in excess of $80,000,000 in available credit extended to existing partners.
Financial services plays an integral role in the company’s reseller sales cycle, and Company executives say that the earlier financing enters into the sales discussion, the better: “If a reseller knows that we’re behind them even in the earliest stages of an opportunity, it can increase their confidence to take the conversation to the next level and possibly go after a deal they might not have otherwise been able to,” said Chuck Thropp, CFO of Westcon Group North America.
Westcon Group’s financial services team has developed many different types of financial solutions and in any given month at least 25% of its customers take advantage of at least one of their offerings. While these financial solutions can be taken advantage of on a deal-per-deal basis Westcon Group’s overall intent is to make these solutions available to their resellers to help grow its customers’ business over the long term.
“In distribution, winning and maintaining loyal customers is the key to success,” says Thropp. “We believe there is no better way to win and retain a customer’s loyalty than to demonstrate past success and future opportunity. We believe our financial solutions provide our customers with that opportunity.”
One of the underlying challenges that nearly every VAR faces is understanding the financial solutions available to them—and which are most suitable in a given situation. For this reason, Westcon Group’s financial services team continually reaches out to its customer base through proactive communication and consultation via On-Boarding calls for new customers, quarterly business reviews and various customer seminars/presentations.
“During the last few quarters, we have been able to discuss our solutions with over 150 resellers,” stated Ed Grzelakowski, Director of Financial Services for Westcon Group North America. “Those forums have allowed us to better articulate our financial solutions and better understand our customers’ business, allowing for the best match or our solutions to the customer’s business needs.”
Pat Aulizia, president and CEO of Neteam, a Richfield, OH-based reseller, added: “I know when we work with Westcon Group or any of its business practices, we can expect the same level of specialized attention in financing as we receive in their products and other services. The flexibility of the financial solutions available as well as their commitment to help us grow our business is very evident, whether we are in the beginning or closing stages of a deal. This has fostered a loyal relationship that can help us overcome financial obstacles.”
