Tarrytown, NY – October 31, 2012 – Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced its Comstor business unit has tapped Cisco veteran Geoff Fancher to drive the company’s presence in the United States. As Senior Vice President, Fancher will help solidify the company’s reputation as a premier global distributor of Cisco technology, services and solutions.
As part of today’s announcement, Westcon also noted Andy Banks will serve as Vice President of its Data Center Practice in North America. Reporting directly to newly appointed IBM veteran Dan Papes, Banks will work to promote Westcon’s channel efforts in the next-generation data center and cloud marketplace.
Fancher arrives at Comstor after championing the field partner organization at Cisco, orchestrating a nationwide team of over 200 partner account managers and partner engineers to achieve more than $8 billion across 8,000 partners. Fancher will now hold P&L responsibility for Comstor’s business across the United States.
“Comstor’s market leadership is powered by an experienced management team with an unparalleled knowledge of Cisco-dedicated distribution,” said Dean Douglas, President and CEO, Westcon Group. “As Geoff boasts more than seventeen years of experience at Cisco – with a proven ability to develop, align and execute key channel strategies – he’s a perfect fit to bring us into our next stage of growth.”
While Vice President of the US Field Partner organization, Fancher orchestrated strategic partner initiatives that directly contributed to Cisco winning the 2012 Computer Reseller News ARC Awards in all five categories. He also ran Cisco’s Channel Advisory Board (CCAB) -- influencing program evolution, fostering executive relationships and securing partner loyalty.
“I’ve always considered Comstor one of Cisco’s strongest partner relationships. Our team was consistently impressed with their deep knowledge of Cisco technology, along with a seamless ability to execute core channel strategies,” said Geoff Fancher, Senior Vice President, Comstor US. “I firmly believe the company has what it takes to become Cisco’s top distributor in the United States and am honored to help make this happen.”
In his new role, Fancher will report directly to Westcon President and CEO Dean Douglas. He will be headquartered at Comstor headquarters in Louisville, Colorado.
