January 2011: Westcon Middle East Joins Brocade’s Alliance Partner Network Programme

WestconME signs up as second Middle East Distributor, helping end users optimise their networking environments

Westcon

Weston Middle East today announced that it has been selected to join the Brocade Alliance Partner Network (APN) programme as a distribution partner.  Brocade selected Westcon for its ability to efficiently deliver networking solutions to customers across the Middle East, as well as its extensive knowledge, skills, and expertise in the networking industry.

As increasing numbers of end customers begin to fully embrace the evolution toward highly virtualized, services-on-demand computing environments, the network becomes the critical component for the secure, reliable and efficient delivery of data.  Such emphasis on the network is driving businesses to demand highly specialized networking partners, ones that can demonstrate strategic value to the organisation in terms of overarching network design and support.  Understanding the need for partners to differentiate themselves and deliver value-added solutions to customers, Brocade has created a product portfolio, and partner program, to address these needs.  Brocade developed the APN programme to equip partners with the necessary tools and skills to become a trusted IT advisor and to fully support partners in their quest to drive deeper levels of customer engagement, while maximising profitability.

“Brocade’s portfolio compliments our current product offerings and extends our partner reach,” said Venu Menon, Sales & Marketing Director Westcon. “Brocade offers exciting new opportunities for Westcon and our partners in datacenter technologies, especially with regard to the seamless integration of storage and ethernet fabrics”.

The selection of Westcon Middle East as a distributor is one element of Brocade’s global APN programme.  The channel reseller programme consists of four distinct partnership levels: distributor, elite, premier, and select.  All levels have been designed with specific requirements and benefits to help partners leverage and be rewarded for their networking product knowledge and solution support expertise.  The core tenet of the APN program is to continuously drive partner profitability through key program elements such as low- to no-cost training, technology-centric specializations, flexible use of Marketing Development Funds (MDF), and deals and leads registration.

“Westcon Middle East’s market coverage, technical expertise in the areas of convergence, infrastructure and security and wide range of complementary solutions make it a perfect fit as a distribution partner for Brocade and provides unique business opportunities,” said Alrazi Saleh, Channel Manager, for Brocade. “Brocade’s channel resellers will be able to leverage Westcon’s extensive data centre networking and enterprise IP networking product expertise and solution support to help customers build next generation networks.”
